Arkki´s CEO Pihla Meskanen presented Arkki educational concept in international seminar ”Designing Future Educcation 2017” held in Singapore September 21, 2017. Among the many interesting Educational Start-ups from Finland, Arkki was present also at the Expo related to the seminar, as well as Slush Singapore presented by Meskanen and Arkki Finland´s leading pedagogue Niina Hummelin.
As Arkki concept is very unique in worldwide, Arkki attracted a lot of interest in Singapore among the educational authorities from nearby countries, the press (e.g. Straits Times newspaper and the FINNLINK magazine), and among the international participants of the seminar.
The seminar presented a full day program from Finnish speakers focusing on the “soft skills”, i.e. the 21st century skills like critical thinking, creativity and communication. The seminar focused on phenomenon-based teaching and learning, and learning in a holistic and authentic context.
The seminar was organized by The Embassy of Finland, SuomiFinland100 Singapore Association, GEMS World Academy (Singapore) and City of Helsinki .
The event was aimed for Ministry of Education, interested government departments, educators (K-12), teacher-training institutions, and anyone with an interest or a passion for education.
